T-minus 2 weeks to Italy 2017

2 weeks to go!  The excitement is building and the anticipation is starting to grow.  I was a little late, making that I just ordered my currency today. Croatian Kuna, Swiss Francs, and Euro. I realized that I wasn't sure how much to get of each. I went to an old reliable source, Google. You can look up anything these days, including average costs of things in places. Go figure.

I ordered 150 francs, 600 kuna, and a couple hundred Euro.   I'll be using my fancy travel card from Chase a fair amount also and I know that it'll work in a lot of places, so I'm not too concerned, but I always take cash and I recommend you do too.

Tonight is fun for me, tonight I am working out some wardrobe questions. I'm building a preliminary packing lay that I well more than happily share next week. But I wanted you to know I'm working on it. They're commonly called "capsule wardrobes" these days, but I just call it packing smart. Choose pieces that are subtle times that go well together. If you'd like to take a splash of color or two, I'd recommend simple items like cardigans or undershirts. If you're a jewelry person, simple, colorful items can go far to make an outfit pop.

The biggest struggle for me is figuring out what to pack for our fancy dinner at Le Grand Colbert in Paris on Friday night. Something that doesn't wrinkle easily, doesn't take up much room, and ideally can be worn elsewhere. Combinations of items could be helpful here for me, but that remains to be seen.

By this point, your currency should be ordered, your luggage should be in and you should have your comfortable shoes already broken in. Transportation should be arranged and I recommend a hotel at your first landing point. Remember that after an overnight flight and a time zone adjustment, you'll feel whipped and elated because you're free in a new land. Knowing where you're going to sleep can help alleviate a fair amount of stress on your part.

All that being said, buckle up, cuz we're two weeks out and I'm getting jump and down excited! Tune in next week for the main countdown from one week and see what's happening next.

Thanks, y'all!
