T-minus 4 weeks to Italy 2017

So, here we are, exactly four weeks before takeoff and I'm getting really excited.  Today, I have my flights booked, my hotel in Paris booked, and my Eurail pass purchased.  I got my bag in the other day and I have a review of it here if you're interested.  I picked it up on Amazon for cheap and it's a durable canvas that I think will hold up well.

If you don't know what a Eurail pass is, read more about it here and see if it's a good fit for you.  I'm working on picking out which articles of clothing I want to take with me on my trip and how they will work with other items in the wardrobe.  They call it a "capsule wardrobe" now, but I just think of it as packing smart.  The trickiest part in mine this time is that my mother and I have a reservation at Le Grand Colbert in Paris on the first Friday night we have on our trip.  That will require some slightly fancier clothing than what I traditionally wear on a trip like this.  I asked and the dress code is business casual, so I'll have to plan accordingly.

At this point, I'm getting really excited about the whole thing and hoping that everything will fall into place as it should on travels such as this.  My mother and I have talked about how we will traipse about Europe and we've decided that a fly-by-the-seat approach is what we will take a for a bit and see where that puts us.  I will definitely keep everyone posted as this blog goes forward and I hope that you can all enjoy your own trips.

Movie Inspiration List:

  • French Kiss

  • Something's Gotta Give

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Thanks, y'all!
