The Importance of the Carry-On

The Importance of the Carry-On

Currently, I'm sitting on a plane in Detroit listening to a concerned man hear the stewardess tell him that his belongings are behind the seat of a stranger. There was no room for his stuff.

I typically travel with 2 bags, my favorite travel bag for clothing and my accessory bag. Both of these bags, at their fullest, fit below the seat in front of me. Now, if you're tall with long legs, this will suck for you during takeoff and landing, but if you're short like me, HEED MY WORDS.

Under the seat in front of you is the only guaranteed space you get on a flight, if you think about it. If something won't fit, the attendants will try to make it work, but it adds hassle to you. If you think you can't get everything you need under the seat in front of you, think again. Learning the art of packing is an important life skill and it's highly applicable to many situations. Check out my article on packing here.

The moral of the story, pack properly, plan ahead, don't rely on uncertain outcomes.

Thanks, y'all!
