Ireland 2016: T-minus 2 days

2 days to go and I cannot believe that it is actually here.  You have to understand that this trip has been planned for the last year of my life and it was all planned around a single day in Ireland with my mother and sister.  You see, lucky for me, this Friday is Friday the 13th and we have planned this entire trip around being in the dark hedges on Friday the 13th.  That may sound a little hokey, but I don't care, it's exciting.

So, anyway, 2 days to go and I am supposed to listen to my own advice and pack tonight.  First off, I don't want to, because I am tired and second, I cannot wait, because I am so excited.  I haven't been this conflicted on anything in my life in a long time, so go vacation.

I still have not purchased flats, much to my chagrin and I still have not loaded my belongings into the bag that I bought for this trip.  But, I did  print out all of my paperwork earlier and I'm going to load it into my bag as soon as I'm done writing this.  The trickiest part of packing is the thinking part.

You have to think about how you are going to pack and how you are going to organize things in a way that makes them easier to access when you are on the road.  You will invariably pack wrong, because you will be faced with the unforeseen, so forgive yourself now for screwing it up.  The main thing is that you know that you have things that you need and that you will find them eventually.

Also, another thing that I thought about today was the fact that no matter what you may or may not forget, remember this.  As long as you have money, a passport, and some semblance of sense, you can do no wrong.  So what if you forget your toothbrush, buy another one.  So what if you forget your favorite shirt, you hopefully have another one and if you don't, buy one.  That's the beauty of traveling the world.  You see firsthand that there are so many places that you can go and so many things that you can do that are so similar to your home that you will rarely be without.

Another thing that I'd like to point out about today is that if you are planning on doing an international phone plan on your cell phone at all, today is the day to make that decision and you should probably have figured that out by now.

I have not.  But, I think that my decision is rapidly being made.  I will try out the Passport plan through AT&T for the sharp price of $30, but I think that since it's unlimited texting that it will be worth it in the long run.

This post being a little long winded, I think that I will sum up now with: Be excited, Pack your stuff, Don't sweat the small stuff, and above all else, Have the confidence in yourself that you will be fine on this trip.

Thanks, y'all!
