Ireland 2016: T-minus 1 day

Ireland 2016: T-minus 1 day

Tomorrow's the big day and I can hardly stand it.  I have arranged for a friend of mine to take me to the train station, where I will get on a train to Chicago, then fly to Charlotte.  There, I will meet up with my mother and sister and we will have a belated Mother's Day celebratory drink before boarding the plane to Dublin, Ireland!  Once we're on the plane, then the fun begins.  Eight glorious hours of plane travel that I'm sure I will come up with some tips for.  And, finally, we land in beautiful Dublin at 7 AM local time and begin our journey through another country.

We've recently decided to add a side trip to London to our vacation and I'm excited because I've never been there.  I will tell you one thing, London is very expensive.  I realize that that's something that you probably have heard, but I'm here to tell you, It's damn expensive!  I hope it's worth it.

So, tomorrow being the big day, the main things to do tonight are to eat a mild dinner that will not mess you up for your flight in the morning.  Make sure that your devices are all charged and cleared of the appropriate amounts of memory, download whatever you want to download, and make sure you get plenty of sleep.  You don't want to be grumpy and tired for your travel day.  Travel days can be stressful enough without the added headache of fatigue.  Trust me on this one.  So, I'm off to bed at a decent hour and you should do the same!

Tonight, I (lately) packed my things and am officially ready to go.  I have, once again, waited until the last minute to download my audiobook from a CD that I rented from the library and I'm here to tell you that ripping that bad boy is frustrating, to say the least.  Second, I bought a knock-off cheap mp3 player and it is proving a trial to my patience.

Long story short, tomorrow is the big day and I'm excited about it.  I cannot wait to see my mom and sister and I cannot wait to get back to Ireland.  It's such a beautiful country and driving through it is going to be different, to say the least.

Best of luck with your packing and your planning at this point and I wish you all the best on your journey.

Thanks, y'all!
